Courage
A sparkling star shines bright, a shield so bold,
Captain America, a man of gold,
He was not born with any super might,
But gem of goodness glowed within him bright.
With patriotic flame burning within
And the milk of kindness flowing in him,
Steve Rogers, by true name, had a pet dream,
To serve his country and make its flag beam.
He was turned down by the army, no chance,
He was deemed too weak and could not advance,
But rays of hope still shone, a secret plan,
To spin a soldier to a brave, strong man.
A serum applied and a light deep green,
Transformed Steve Rogers from frail, weak and lean
To a man of shining strength, speed and grace,
Symbol of courage, fit for time and space.
With shield in hand, he fought with fearless might,
Against the darkness of day and the night,
Against bullies, mighty, sturdy and strong,
In support of voiceless souls, old or young.
He did not fear to brave the squally storm,
To ride the wild, woeful waves or maelstrom,
To spearhead the front ranks in tough battles,
Search with a fine comb the wildest jungle.
He dispensed his energy without fear,
Burnt midnight candles for many a year,
Joined force with other heroes, brave and true,
The Avengers with their brave and bold crew.
He stands for gleams of hope in darkest days,
A guiding light in countless warming ways;
His courage secured him many awards
And public gratitude as a reward.
His shield, a symbol of strength and courage,
Of justice and liberty across age,
He reveals courage, how to bravely stand
For what is fair and right in every land.
If we stare up at the sky, we will eye,
The Captain's star shining eternally,
Recalling his lessons of bravery
And his stance for justice and liberty.
