Coupons
If I could get a discount on fake hair.
Or clovers, or salt straight from nowhere.
Maybe my taste buds wouldn’t be so long.
And butter is too bitter to belong.
I hate when I go to the store.
And turn into a star-studded apple core.
Just to not even get a coupon for droplets of rain.
Even with ivy in my vein.
If I could get a discount from any store.
I would ride my unicycle through the front door.
Tap on the counter with delight.
A new pair of pants are ok but they could bite.
So maybe I’ll just get a hat instead.
But I can’t even wear it in bed!
So with veins of ivy and coupons for lips.
I handed this coupon over with my finger tips.
Told them to pass the coupon to the next person.
Because my willingness to spend has had a good run.
But I have my unicycle and a tote bag with me.
And wouldn’t you know- I got them for free!
