Country Living

City life use to be the life for me, But I found out that country life is truly the place to be. Seeing an old barn sitting on top of the hill, Or watching a mule plowing the field. Riding the 4 wheeler over acres of land, While thinking about your future plan. Watching the kids swim in the old muddy pond, Seeing the smile on their face while their laughing and having fun. Getting up early to feed the hogs, And opening the door to a yard full of hunting dogs. Country living feels so right, Even more when you can sit on your porch late at night. When you can look up in the sky and see nothing but the moon and stars, No hussle or bussle or fast moving cars. The echo of crickets in the still of the night, Man does country life feel so right. But there’s one thing that defiantly is the best, When you walk into Granny’s kitchen and the table is dressed. Meat, cakes, pies and some country greens, Just sitting here thinking about it makes my belly sing. Family gathered together like it’s a holiday, I give anything just to live that way.
