Could Even These I Forget

The soft swell of the sea
              Waves rise from its floor
              The surge of the tide
              As it crashes to shore.

              The rustle of leaves
              Flutter in the wind
              The spell of the forest
              Creatures lurking within.

              Could even these I forget
              In my daily routine
              Of Patients and Monitors---
              No window between?

You have reminded how important it is to pause and remember the wondrous world we share, I really enjoyed your wonderful poem, Gershon!!

High praise, Mike. Very humbling for me, as I feel that your poetry is exactly that, i.e., real poetry---whereas mine has a way to go. Many thanks for the encouragement! Best wishes, Gershon

I love your poem, Gershon. It always surprises how magnificent capturing those simple moments can be. Superbly done.

Thank you so much, Line! This was actually one of the first poems I wrote, way back in early November. I'm not sure why I didn't publish it back then,...but I changed two words yesterday, and that seems to have worked out well. Thank you again and again for all of your encouragement! :) gw
