Corner of the Room

Empty now, that corner spot where the Christmas tree had stood, artificial green fir metal branches that simulated wood. After the treasured ornaments carefully packaged, un-bruised, twinkling bright white lights are cautiously removed. Gentle reminiscing as each is stored away remembering so many other Christmas days. Set aside and boxed trinkets for future times as the season quickly unwinds. Memoirs of the holidays that families shared buried in the closet basement with care. The love and joy that it brings holds the secret of everything. Empty for now, anticipating all that life allows. that corner of the room waiting for everyday life to resume.
