Lasaad, this is poetic expression at its best! Your ten words tell a story of grief, loss and living a new life one step at a time. So much is said between the lines. Congratulations on your win in Brian's contest. Blessings, dear friend!

SP, it might be even ever so more difficult if one is accustomed to being served. I suppose it could also be difficult for someone used to cooking in large batches! Of course, the whole poem creates a sense of loneliness. It opens up all kinds of possibilities we might supply as to why the person is in this situation. Smiles!

I am an empty nester, for about 5 years now and I totally get it. Its even a bit of a challenge to cook for just the two of us, my husband and I that being.
