Contradictions of Life

Two major contradictions in life can bring you to your knees Like opposing sisters in a family, as one arrives, the other leaves Comedy and tragedy… Two mascots, hovering above every life One brings gifts of joy and laughter; the other brings pain and strife Comedy and tragedy… Mirth has a mind of her own desiring to stick around like glue But her seemingly jealous sister, is most often misunderstood Comedy and tragedy… Each one unique in the role which they play They seem to keep some balance on life’s revolving stage Comedy and tragedy… It has never crossed my mind, just how insane living here would be If we all experienced only rain, without the sun how would species feed? Comedy and tragedy… Note: For Dr. Ram's "Tragedy is more enjoyable that Comedy"

Audrey, you did a brilliant job with this contest entry. Indeed, we need both the sun and the rain -- the comedy and the tragedy -- to fully experience life. Love, Carolyn

Audrey you could reverse that one line too and say if we all experienced the sun, without ever rain! Neither one would be good for us! Good luck in his contest. I can see you put much thought into this great entry. LUv, Andrea

I'm loving the two sides of the coin in this poem....and indeed, we would probably not appreciate the sun without a little rain. Thought provoking and well said! ~ Carrie

Smile ~ I am going to fave this "Beautiful Treasures Reflection of 'You'" &, if I was not so fatigued right now from such a long weekend then, I would read it over & over to absorb & com properly upon its bright lights, "Dear Beautiful Audrey Carey" but, I shall find plenty of time tomorrow I do believe to visit, "Your Beauty" & others here I pray upon The Soup; although, my days are sometimes often, up within the air & yet, my love, is "Always" there ~ ....Cont:)
