Contingency
Nothing is promised
everything is bound for change
nothing stays the same
love is a gamble and most of us
stay plugged into this game
the house always wins yet we think
we can beat those odds
It's quite irrational to be optimistic
to think things aren't what they appear to be
and with time, the scales will tip in your favor
Silly me
But I just watch, I play the spectator
I know how the movie ends
but still I think I can change
and control the narrative
It's imperative that we listen to reason
listen to our intuition
trust me when I say that its vision is limitless
Yeah it's important to be the change you wanna see
but even more importantly to understand
and see when things and people just are who they are
this isn't judgement on them
they are who they are
It's you who want them to be something else
accept the cards you were dealt
regardless if you didn't examine the entire board
you decided to go all in at your liberty
now live with your decision
or I guess...plan for that contingency
