Contemplating You

In the swells that rise and fall, from the depths, I see your face.
Then from the breeze, I feel your touch, and your soft embrace.
On my skin, I feel the warmth, from your radiant glow.
Now I know, that because of you, I’m still here, and not below.

Since the air is thick, it’s what my deep breaths have wrought,
Is what you might think, and all that you may have thought.
For the love that we shared, that I still feel in my heart.
If I were only there with you, we would not now be apart.

Now the day is drawing to a close, as my life will surely do.
I keep thinking that someday I will be up there with you.
The memories, I cannot erase, you left the world blessed with grace
Today the world is a better place, because there was you.
