Listen to poem:
I want to be closer As close as your breath The heartbeat that separates The living from death A touch as electric As life flows, it seems This story is written In pages and reams I want to feel whispers So near they are warm Assurance and promise The shelter from storm Safe, caring nuzzle Intimate speech Gentle and loving No poem can reach Caress of a mother A hug from a friend The presence of hope That no fear can contend I want to be mindful Hold the words in my head For the silence of closeness Says far more than is said

Loved this poem Sam and so enjoyed your narration which enhances it further. The pictures accompanies it so well. The poem flows beautifully with wonderful, deep, reflective lines throughout. ‘ I want to feel whispers’’ The presence of hope’’ I want to be mindful’. I especially relate to the last two lines -‘ silence is golden’. So enjoyed this thoughtful piece. Thank you. Blessings to you :):)

This is quite wonderful feedback, Christina, truly grateful x I was surprised at the origins of the word seemingly with negative connotations, yet beautiful in a new way to me. Thank you so much. Blessings ;))

such a soft and evocative poem, Sam. There's an ever-growing need for sincere mindfulness and compassion in today's world. I'm like you...I want to be mindful, hold the words in my head, for the silence of closeness says far more than is said.' Am faving this one because it resonated with me.

Dear Sara, that is such an encouragement x and yes some thoughtfulness can go a long way and costs so little. We should pause far more. Hugs :)

A very lyrical poem this is and flows in such a delicate manner which depicts longing for light and love: yes many need to be mindful but only few are aware that they need to: its always good to see someone acknowledge their need for mindfulness, and not just throw words around. Silence definitely says more than words can. And i love also the opening lines: very evocative poem this is: flows seamlessly! Pleasure always reading your sincere and soulful writes.
