CONSOLATION PRIZE
He’d love her forever, he’d said.
She’d married his best friend instead.
Ten long years have passed since that day
When his ex-friend stole her away.
So long ago it was, and yet
No way could he ever forget.
She never knew how he missed her.
He went and married her sister.
