Consideration

About some poem titles, I'm a little vexed
If a poem is posted, isn't it already in text?
I don't understand why it's being included
in a LONG title when it should be excluded.

Some titles take up six lines or even more
removing other poems that fall to the floor.
Is it reasonable to ask that titles be shorter?
Your opinion, if you're opposed or supporter.


I've missed poems that I would like to read because they're driven off the listing page by titles that take so many lines. Please be cognizant of the amount of space taken from others when adding information to a title that could be included as a footnote.

Tom Cunningham March 24, 2021 at 3:52 PM Good point Jenna, imagine if we all done that there would only be a handful of poems on the main page, as Jan says additional info could be put on the poets notes, admin should only allow so many characters in the poem title, that would cure the problem im sure. Jan Allison March 24, 2021 at 4:28 PM It really is a shame that un necessary info is being repeated in titles - there was a time our poems would be on the page much longer than 24 hrs and get lots of reads and comments, traffic on the site seems to have slowed right down. In general I try to keep titles to a couple of lines - having to add contest additions does increase the line length but i dont add anything else except if its emotive or bawdy and i feel i need to inform the reader of this
