Confusion Sets: Part 2

Me being too optimistic
Has been seen as being bad
I try to keep the dreams and goals
Of the life I used to have

Things weren't always easy
The paths not always certain
At times I felt so queezy
But the result was that 'I was learnin.'

I've been tormented becuase of the Navy
I've been scorned because of school
These quote 'faults of mine' have made me
The family's thorn and fool

Have people really called me these?
No, but they sure can show it
The experiences that dropped me to my knees
Made people say, "Broken heart? Just sew it!"

Someone close, and honest, dear
Is the hardest thing to find
The last one I thought it was really there
But has finally left my mind

No more of me being used
Or having my heart rejected
My emotions have been so many times abused
But now I'm defending and the arrows have been deflected
