Confused? You Will Be

So, you think it's weird now
in the bittersweet hormonal rush
of youthful vanity?
Well, guess what, it doesn't change,
this life of uncertainty,
fugue and insanity.
You could drown in accounts
of the way it will be,
the way it will go;
and the years don't offer much clarity,
for the older you get
the less you seem to know.
But, saying that, it's not all bleak,
it's the self-same cycle
for each and everyone;
so grab happiness where you find it
as so often it arrests
before it has fully begun.
Do you still think it weird now
this teeming maelstrom
of paradox and contradiction?
Just chill-out and kick back,
go with the flow: confused? You will be -
a human affliction.
