Confluence

A rare confluence of events
Is happening tonight
To fill both Jews and Christians
With a feeling of delight.

At sunset Chanukah begins;
Two candles thus will glow,
While Christmas brings excitement,
Knowing Santa Claus will show.

All celebrants will gather
With their kith and kin to feast.
There'll be gossip, gifts and goodies,
Greedy waistlines thus increased.

So to all who'll spend this evening
With the dreidel or the tree,
Here's a happy merry greeting
Flowing straight to you from me.

When I grew up, was unaware of differences this day. All I knew was gifts under tree for weeks that caused dismay. :) And when that magic night did come, for that's when we'd rejoice. That there were different celebrations just never had a voice. So it is nice to hear from you with such love in your tone. For all the disdain in today certainly makes one moan. Happy belated Chanukah. Note: disdain being terrorism and ill will between nations and sects.
