Confidant

Your disguise is perfect and given off with style
If only he had known when you were coming down the aisle

A secret spilled that would inflict nothing but pain
The revolution I feel for you I can hardly contain

With a laugh and a smile you reveal a broken promise
The day you lit the fire and began it with a kiss

Lying is not the only thing you did with your mouth that day
Thoughts of him and your children keep me from giving it all away

Go on and pretend to live in your fantasy dream
For in time the haze will disperse and reveal your vile scheme

Wow Erin-Powerful stuff here. I think I 'got' this. If so, clever, clever.

another nice one here as well. I liked the references to the mouth. The smile, kiss and lying with the mouth.

I like the development of your poem. And I especially love poems that rhyme. I would suggest that you work on the meter of the poem to give it a smother flow. Please don't take offense. I know that someone as eloquent as yourself can polish this poem into a masterpiece that is why I'm making this suggestion.
