Complexes

Why do we let others decide who we are What we can and cannot do They fill us with lies and confusion And somehow we think this is true You'll never amount to anything They say til they make us believe They lower our goals and standards Til it lessens the things we achieve We call them friends when they tell us we can't And they say it's for our own good Why can't we see it kills our desire To reach for the things that we could A complex is something we carry thru life Given by Wolves in disguise They say they're trying to help us But it just binds our souls with lies
