Complete

I am safe when you are near,
like a baby nestled in
his mother's arms.
I can breathe without gasping
and speak without stammering,
my embarrassment fades
in the glow of your smile.

I need no safety net;
there is no pretense, no prevarication;
your closeness brings me
to a feeling of well-being.

Dancing with the lights low
and kissing in the rain,
holding you so tight
and hoping that you'll
never let me go

I feel complete.
