Compassion on the cross

there are no shortcuts to be had 
during Lent season 
we must endure the sacrifice like Jesus did 
no matter the reason 

compassion on the cross 
we must act like Jesus the Christ 
to be considerate of everyone 
that we encounter in this life 

we're blood related through Jesus. 
we are family 
and we all must learn to behave 
most accordingly

Jesus showed no anger 
He didn't clap back 
He asked Father God to forgive them 
for their vicious attack 
for His death was one of such agony 
on the cross He died to fulfill the prophecy

Jesus understood His purpose 
and His conception 
His death was the atonement 
for man's indiscretions

compassion on the cross 
empathy was our Lord Christ 
He had a love for humanity 
for which He gave his life 

compassion on the cross. 
we must act like Jesus the Christ

that we encountered in this life 

we received an unconditional love 
afforded us by the power of His blood
