Common Sense Needed
You can't control your children,
When they become adults
You should not interfere
As discord can result
They do not need your opinion
As they have views of their own
When they venture into the world
They want to make it alone
Let them know you'll be there
If they ever have the need,
For a shoulder to cry on
They know that is guaranteed.
Times have changed
From when we stepped out into life
The disorder in the world today
It causes heartache and strife.
Nothing comes easy,
When skullduggery runs rife.
Honesty and trust
Seem to be becoming a thing of the past
But we all must
Realise this state of affairs can't last
How can we have the audacity
To try to control our kids
When past generations
Lack of control has put us on the skids,
Will future generations take note of this
Or will they carry on as before
If we don't come to our senses soon
The world will be no more!
