Commandments For the Writer

Don’t write of love if you
have not felt it.
Don’t write of gas if you
have not dealt it.
Don’t write of joy if you
cannot show it.
Don’t write of knowledge if you
do not know it.
Don’t write of power if you
cannot prove it.
Don’t write of strength if you
will not move it.
Don’t write of the cure if you
still crave it.
Don’t write of a loss if you
really gave it.
Don’t write of adventure if you
will not take it.
Don’t write of forgiveness if you
cannot shake it.
Don’t write of belief if you
always hide it.
Don’t write of truth if you
cannot find it.
And for the love of God!
Don't listen to me.
