Coming Up Short

Sadly, there's news that I have to report: Sometimes your age has you coming up short. You may plan a trip or an outing and then Boom! It hits you - you're wandering out of your ken. You may tempt the gods and proceed even though A tiny voice whispers it's best not to go. If sleepless nights happen you don't have a choice - Admit your defeat and pay heed to that voice. Then alter the plans you'd intended to keep Just the tiniest bit to ensure you will sleep. Admit that the years have been taking a toll; Find an easier path and get ready to roll.

I put this on my FAV list like others of yours. Maybe they should add an auto-FAV button!! Perfect rhyme, a true message, upbeat, not unbearably long with words I've never heard before, although I'm not exactly sure about the use of ken?? You are a literary genius!

Indeed! Will share a recent "Senior moment": A. Put butter in fry pan, turned on burner. B. Scrambled eggs in bowl while pan heated. C. Noticed butter smoking — too hot — moved pan off burner. D. Added goodies to scrambled mixture, proceeded to dump directly onto burner, after failing to recall step C !!! Cheers ~ j
