Coming Back Blues

Death surrounds
Lurking in the voice of friends
Promising better things
Once I reach an end

I've been here before
Drifting through the same pit
Believing synonymous claims
Merely to be found unfit

Bitterness nips each day at soul
And tries to draw me in
Just waiting for the tomorrow
I'm settled on giving in

Will it affect me as before
This case of the depressing blues
Am I prepared to handle the thoughts
That never want me to see the day through?

Though gloominess is seeping in skin
And happy days are hard for recalling
I shan't let my mind battles win
No longer answering deaths calling

One of the hardest things is to put mind over matter but maybe it is worth the struggle.
