Comfort Me

Tonight, the only arms comforting me are my own
Wrapped around my body and not letting go
The pain you’ve caused is running down my face
Drenching my shirt and suffocating this place
There’s a static in the room
Attempting to block every thought of you
But the static never works
I only seem to make them worse
The shaking of my skin and the blur of my eyes
Has me in disbelief that I’ll ever be alright
The thing that I want so badly is too far to hold
I am begging for you until I am blue and cold
I can’t find peace
When I am in the same bed where you used to sleep
With your arms around me and your kiss on my neck
I love you so deeply I fear I have none left
