Comfort In a Tragic Loss
COMFORT IN A TRAGIC LOSS
As you mourn this loss together, the questions fill your mind,
And no matter how you ask them, still answers you don’t find.
But one thing that I am sure of as tears flow from your eyes,
God’s aware of all that’s happened; He’s not taken by surprise.
He has answers to the questions, though you may not know today
How or why this time you’re facing can be good in any way.
And some things may stay a mystery, but there’s one thing that I know:
The one you love knew Jesus, and he really loved Him so.
And God’s grace is still sufficient even in a death like this,
So take comfort in the promise that he’s in a land of bliss.
We could wish it had not happened, we could speak with scorn or blame,
But it will not bring us comfort dwelling on it with that shame.
It is better now to place this into God’s Almighty hand
And trust that through this loss now that He still has a plan.
His greatest plan now through this is that you now might know
That you know Christ the Savior and to His place you’ll go.
For though this one is gone now, you can meet them again
If you have come to Jesus, repented of your sin.
So as you face the days now with this one now not there,
Remember he’s in heaven and under His watch care.
And you can have assurance if you’ll trust Christ today
He’ll take you in His family and wash your sin away.
And you will see this loved one, though through a tragic loss
Because of Christ the Savior and His death upon the cross.
