this is very beautiful and i loved how you described it as the moon birthing the sun, it was great and i have not ever looked at it that way, usually i think that the sun births the moon but i like it your way better! =)Jo

Now this is haiku! I think that it captures everything that a poem should do. There is no pretentions of sylable counting and flow. what haiku should be is three poems on the same theme from different perspective. I like that you westernise the form but maintain the discipline that is important in catching a moment and making it everlasting. Excellent!
