Come I Can Help You Through This

I'm was stuck in side
Just a light flickering
The end of the tunnel was nowhere near
It was dark and gloomy
The silence was unbearable
Just the small sound of whimpering
Echoed in the distance
The waves of trouble and disappear
Had washed over me
I kept walking
Hoping that maybe there would be a light
Hoping that I could hear another set of feet next to mine
But no one ever came
The sounds slowly faded and the light went out
I reached the end of the tunnel
But nothing was there
Just the smell of death lingered in the air
And then out of nowhere a hand is extended
A voice cries out "come, I can help you through this"
I grab the hand and hold fast
And we start back through the tunnel
Holding hands and taking a step at a time
And each step that is taken
Is a step closer to the light
A step closer to freedom
And after a very long time we reach the light
The light of warmth, comfort, and freedom
So now that I'm here
I will extend a hand to anyone
That has reached the end of their tunnel
And I can be the hand in the darkness that reaches out
Saying "come, I can help you through this"
