Come Be the Light

She left it all behind and never went back there again
For there you are unable to find what is inside all men
She left for a new start a new way of looking at things
She followed her heart and all the joy that that brings

She wasn't doing anything wrong and things were okay
But inside she would often long for something in her day
She paid it no mind at first and simply tried to ignore it
But you can't deny thirst as this young lady had to admit

Flying to a distant land leaving family and friends behind
Many didn't understand for such a life wasn't even in mind
But she had persevered and some times she comes to visit
Oh how the Lord has steered for such sweet a beauty I admit

Today that young nun is a Saint who cared for India's poorest
Just the thought makes most feint but she did her very best
All that love that she showed to those cast aside by society
For she knew what was truly owed something many can't see
