Combine Carolina Contests

Past Will Find Behind

Predict that past will always find behind;
Would be best if both Carolina's combine;
A poetry and book contest be presenting;
Both Carolinas am sure are consenting.

There are those who lie and are alibiing;
New plans and ways we should be trying; 
After being prepared, over and done,
We are sure and certain is best one.

Of you attention want this to be in center;
Both Carolinas residents could now enter,
And according to latest scoop and poop
Will Rogers threw lariats having a loop.

So we can further add to drastic drama,
Go ahead and toss in State of Oklahoma;
Had been original home of the Cherokee;
After Trail of Tears in Carolina are now free.

History With Much Misery

Cherokee all have such a long history,
And some of it contained much misery;
Many tears were spread along a trail;
Ended up in Carolina weak and frail.

Formed communities built on their own;
Built out of rocks, loose dirt and stone;
They existed and have been educated;;
All of their proud parents were elated.

While Cherokee learned to read and write;
To participate in contest we should invite;
On each Carolina would have wonder effect;
Both of the states at same time should select
.
