Colours In the Sky
Why is a rainbow
So magical to see
A big archway of colours
Spread over homes and trees
They have seven colours
All the colour's blend
There is said to be a pot of gold
At the rainbow's end
Looking up at this spectacle
This oracle of the sky
The colours are gently fading
And very soon will die
Its beauty is breathtaking
So simple to create
A droplet of water
And some sunshine
Is all it needs to make
A rainbow
That shall be seen again
Clothed in all its glory
Next time the sun is shining
Accompanied by rain
I penned this poem about two years ago and can't remember if I put it on soup.
