Notes About The Poem

Colored Green

Colored Green

Forever is a long long time
when you're broken deep inside.
Each new day one more reminder
of tears you one time cried.

But tears will all one day go dry
it's hard to just explain.
How where a river one time flowed
its bed will still remain.

Raging one time long ago
like few have ever seen.
Now the home of grass and trees
with leaves all colored green.

Flowers breaking through the ground
 and reaching for the sky.
Water now long gone from it
like tears you used to cry.

And like that river bed of old
it's purpose has moved on.
It has a brand new reason
and the river is all gone.
