Colorado Storm

It splinters the sky
Light abounding
Blocking the sun
Blackness surrounding
Crackling for miles
Its loud but exciting
Shattering my thoughts
Its rain so inviting
A wall of clouds
Moving and tortured
Here comes the danger
Beauty enraptured
A drum beat, a flash
A deafening sound
Heavy rain falling
On wet, sodden ground
