Color To Live By

What if blue was the face on every fellow? For we have red and we have yellow; We have black and we have white; All this color, and still we fight; For we are always keeping score; Of who has what and who has more; Some people wish that we were green; There is a problem with that it seems; At the end of every day, Envy creeps in and gets in the way. Then it’s back to keeping score; Of who has what and who has more; Orange or purple could end our plight; But poets would hate it with all our might; For there is much more that we can do, If all our faces were just blue, For many are always keeping score; Of who has what and who has more; The answer then it seems to me; Is to follow He who hung on a tree; He gave us all the golden rule; So, we would not act like fools; Who are always keeping score; Of who has what and who has more;
