Collage

I'm weighed down
by this one stoic dream
frayed at its seams
Its contorted temper
depleting my own
A first engagement
refuses to live
It frees reflections churning
inside
and known but unseen
Each time you smile
it rages its calm
and endangers me
Each prickly step
returns a joy
and plunges in

I'm feted by the remains
of the vivid blankness
A frigid noise
encumbering what we once knew
Tempestuousness now weaving between
piles of waste
Gaps forming intricate designs
engulfing our joint image
Once a simple reflection...
you here, me beside
Now a confusing collage
of me and you scattered
throughout
