Cold, Oh So Cold

Why must the wind blow so cold? …My skin is so thin
My shivering bones …………… It’s letting the cold in
I pray for the warmth ………..….But I hear only howls
I loathe thee old winter ….. As you linger in my bowels
My time is just torment ………….. I pray for warm rain
But Satan’s in charge …………….. He’s making it plain
I’ve lived my life sinful ………I’m now paying the price
With snow, wind and pain …..…. And more slippery ice
I try to do better ……………….. But just who do I fool?
I’ll just live in this sty ………. …. And swim in its pool
Warmness will find me ………. On my resurrection Day
I’ll be judged and sentenced …………..Then burned away
Ashes to ashes ………………………………. Dust to dust
I’ll be no more with you ……………..On this you can trust
