Coda

Humans are  moving into space and beyond
The planet they call home will soon be dead 
and gone
They succeeded doing what none did before 
Killing a planet where life prospered millions 
of years or more
Destruction began with animal resources
Then draining the earth of all its life forces 
Earth's atmosphere didn't escape the 
decimating act
It was the last to go in actual fact
They built a space vehicle …a latter day 
Noah's ark
And they're now lost in space in cosmos' 
frozen dark
They haven't a plan on where they'll go
But found the universe is a rocky horror 
picture show

David Smith July 15, 2016 at 12:05 AM That is one ending glaringly scary. Just a matter of whether they decide to use inventions that have all the answers to heal this planet with some to take with them on spaceship. Here in little Kiwi land we can turn cow poo into water ever so pure and that is just the start. My hope will not be given up lightly, Need poems like yours to make others see. Very well written.
