Notes About The Poem

Clutching At Straws

Deprived of love and hope
She finds it hard to cope
Yearning to fill her empty bowl
To the devil she would sell her soul.

Hi Paul, my much belated congratulations on your win with this much deserved poetic gem. You are so creative within four lines Paul. Such sadly strong lines that create such a dark image. I love the content. For this piece, I shall put in an extra fave. This write is so deserving Paul. Have a wonderful Saturday. Your friend always....Mike.

A truly sad poetic insight into a state of mind caused by loneliness, Paul. Gripping and gritty tale of truth. Mighty fine poetry. Love and smiles and smiles of joy.

WoW! So many young souls have fallen into that trap. Too eager to be accepted they are willing to do anything for friendship or love. Sometimes they learn too late it is just a trap for the untrained mind. Great job here. So much wisdom in such few words. Excellent Paul. God Bless, JB

A genuine depiction of a human state of heart, mind and soul.. Indeed, hopeless, helpless and fragile souls are an easy prey to "the devil" to which they cling! A brilliant rendition of an appalling truth! A FAV and a pleasure to read! Congratulations on your win Paul! Stay safe and blessed always.
