Clouds
Ascending through the sky
I see my old friends again
And wait in anticipation
I can barely contain my excitement
As we pass through the cloud
The white is so blinding
I assume it is heavenly light
And when we reach the top
Breaking through the thick layer
Blanketing the powder blue atmosphere
And I am taken aback
As a new frontier spreads before my eyes
Rolling hills of fluff
A whole other world above us
Floating in the sky
Migrating, shaping, and dissipating
Thin air manifesting in its true form
And as I sit in the plane
Nose pressed to the glass of the window
I can’t help but think
I am home.
