Closing In On Me

Blood is streaming from all of my wounds. Searing pain resonates throughout my body. I try to speak, only to swallow more blood. Every single movement, seems to take a lifetime. People are shouting, yet all I hear is a high pitched ringing. The injured and dead near me, yet all I can smell is the aroma of gunpowder. The sun descends upon the horizon, as the shadows of death are closing in on me. Note: Dedicated to Military personnel who died in battle.

Very descriptive and emotive work...We can't know the emotional turmoil that these young men and women go through..I am glad that I chose this one to read today for it helped me put what I face in perspective..Your presence at my work helped me to feel better about my work..Sara
