Close To Me

CLOSE TO ME

Everywhere I go I feel Christ close to me;
Every day I grow I feel Christ close to me;
Every time I’m sad He fills my soul with glee.
Oh, dear Jesus, keep me close to Thee.

Every day I live I feel Christ close to me;
Every time I give I feel Christ close to me;
When I sin or stray He calls to set me free.
Thank You, Lord, for being close to me.

When I’m old and ill I’ll feel Christ close to me;
When this body chills I’ll feel Christ close to me;
Then I’ll hear Him say, “It’s time this world to flee,
Come, my child, be ever close to Me.”

These words written to “Games That Lovers Play.”
