Close the Skies

He asked the world to close the skies He graciously thanked them for support For sending food and supplies He told them of the horror As the death toll continued to rise He said the sanctions are a start But we need to close the skies Shells and bombs rain down In clouded aerial disguise They fell on hospitals and schools Losses of indescribable size He said they target from above He explained to his closest allies Safely in their suits so far away You need to close the skies He asked from the middle of a warzone Determination in his eyes He said what if this were your country Your children, your own battle cries Your friends that took up arms Hoping your new comrades aren't the spies He knows the consequences For the allies crossing lines But how long can they hold off a giant And tell loved ones their goodbyes So he asked them. Please. Close the skies.
