CLOCKWORK STUDIO
swooshing of the brush,
fanned out in peacock style.
the gentle rush of rustic paint.
saint of the artist studio,
he hears with sight - only in the mind.
a kind of kindling, sparking, igniting
the winsome woods, of men and maids in-waiting,
sating the palate of the hourglass.
mass of oxyrhynchus hymn — chanting.
enchanting, vividly alive ~
flames in the artist’s eyes.
the canvas burns, survives
for generations ~
a veneration conducted in pastels.
