Clerical Celibacy

oh god is this choice
                       ~
taking a huge leap of faith
              only to abstain

David it goes against all human carnal desire and nature to abstain. It's a fantastic cover strory though as because it's due to faith it bats away and deflects any enquring question

It’s not about what god wants Christopher it’s about the way the truth is corrupted by these religious orders to suit themselves, I understand totally all your points and agree with them, cheers David

If God wanted people to be celibate how then would we increase as species we would be extinct then wouldn't we . Wouldn't have much of a congregation to speak of then would he. Its like banning and forbidding contraceptives again only goes to multiply the birth rate and followers to be used and sacrificed when holly crusaders are needed to fight a holly war on his behalf

The poem is a total contradiction of itself, like the vow of celibacy, all the vow does is make these people look more holy because they have the will to overcome their urges, but the truth is some or many don’t, that’s when the corruption starts, and the higher echelons become complicit by trying to cover it up, to maintain a false integrity

If as i think the point of poetry is supposed to induce emotion or touch a nerve David then this is it. I inherently always really want or wish to believe David i can't think of anything better or more fulfilling. But then reality kicks in and i think why would i want to play any part in justifying this. Funny how a decent moralistic atheist can't go to heaven but a morally corrupt believer can. Maybe it's because we can't blame the devil for our sins and leading us astray

Beggars David beyond all human decency and comprehension how it could be done in the 1st place let alone covered up. And like you said still nothing has been done about it.

You said it David After all the problems that this has come and brought to light Still no admission rebuttal or addressing the issue. Tells you all and everything you ever need to know . If your not getting it at home where are you getting it.

I agree all it seemed to achieve was sexual abuse by the clergy through their very own frustration and as you said human carnal desires, it beggars believe in this day and age that the same celibacy laws still apply, cheers David
