Clearly See

See Clearly
 I really thought you cared
Well, that was a big mistake
When push came to shove
I found out how I rate.

It is okay don’t you worry
I’ve been down this road before  
You aren’t the first to let me down
It’s Just… this one hurt me more

I’ll be okay I know this too
And Time will help me mend
That light at the end of the tunnel
Went out and there is no end

I will throw away the bad things 
And remember all the good
You helped me want to live again
I still will…. I know I should
    
My memories I will treasure
They will get me through
The times I know are coming
When I get over you.

I wish you only happiness
So sorry I wasn’t the one
True love is so hard to find
  my search is over and done.

I do not want your pity
The fault lies only with me
And I fooled only myself 
It is what I can clearly see.

Life is full of disappointments and unfulfilled promises that we should get over with and carry on with life. The poem provokes those that injure human feelings to think twice. Thanks. JM
