Clearer Than Mud
In my heart is pain that can't be undone
No joy in life, no laughter no fun
Once two broken hearts came together to make one whole
Now just two separate hearts and one shattered soul
You filled my day with peace and light
Now my days are dim not bright
I had serenity with you that calmed the storm
A place that kept me safe and warm
I gave you my heart and you gave me yours
But shattered to pieces they're both on the floors
With no understanding of what went wrong
My feelings fit into poem and song
I loved you then and I do still
I didn't stop and I never will
My first love to whom I gave my all
I willingly fell into love's siren call
There is a saying I do believe
It means so much to me
"If you love something set it free,
if it comes back its meant to be."
I never wanted to let you go
With you gone its only hurt that I know
I don't really understand as to why
All I know is you're reasoning is partially a lie
So make me understand
as to why you aren't my man
