Clean Slate

A divine moment that allows introspection.
As the sun lowers, night offers protection.

Deserving of silence while I take it all in,
catching a glimpse of a Dolphin's fin.

Briefly the sky is a coloring book,
as if children had crayons and somehow mistook
the big blue canvas as a clean slate
to paint magic and start to create.

New memories and a new day tomorrow,
abandon cobwebs and moments of sorrow.
Lowering the hours of this day
allowing the next morning to be o.k.

Taking my breath away
I feel emotion that's been at bay.

The inspiratiion that comes as night covers us is eloquently expressed, Kristen. I think the sponsor wanted us to specify we were writing about either Sunset or Sunrise, though it is very clear to me that you are talking about the peace that comes with sunset and how we begin each dy with a "clean slate." Well done! Wishing you success. Love, Carolyn
