Clay Bells
Choral voices housed in clay, clapped
Ring out wild bells to the wild sky
Freed from within the frame thus trapped
Hear their harmony, earthen cry.
Refined or raucous, righteous, sound
Ring out wild bells to the wild sky
Make the air vibrate all around
Joyous the Word our voices try.
Fire to warm the winter deep
Ring out wild bells to the wild sky
The year soon ends within the keep
Souls stoked sing resoundingly.
Let the taste of metal on tongue
Ring out wild bells to the wild sky
Rejoice, a New Year has begun
And all of mankind cries goodbye.
