Classical, That's For Me

In all my life when growing up
music was a great love of mine
all kinds I loved but one I didn't
attracted thought I to classical design

But just couldn't get into class
oh how bI tried to like it very much
was I a common working-class to lack?
maybe one day I will get the touch

In my punk loving days of yore
it seemed a million classical miles away
a friend said one day classically
will be your constant love forever to stay

That day came maybe in mid-90s
it seemed to bring calm to my heart
where stress twisted and torn me inside
now soothing peace killed off any dart

Now my stammer had an opponent
musically drawing me to a higher plain
such beautiful sounds to fill my mind
a real blessing, mine is to attain

(I have written this looking back to a time when classical music had a profound effect upon me, a time I'll never ever forget.)

Hi Heidi, Trust you're well, sorry the soupmail will be in next couple of days as I'm whacked after getting little sleep last night as the heat during the night was unbearable. Take care, Blessings, Gordon

It's so nice you have that time to look back on. Classical was never an interest of mine but I do recall the classical album my mom had us listen to when we were little kids!

I am so glad you have found classical music to be so therapeutic dear Gordon. I too came to it fairly late, as my first love was Tamala Motown and soul music, which I still love, but now i find Puccini's arias so wonderful and the joy I get from attending a concert with a full orchestra is truly out of this world. If only I could play an instrument too... take care Gordon. With kindest thoughts Ann xx

Hi Ann, yes it's been a lifeline to me in recent years too, and like you I still like most of the music that used to be a favourite for me like country, folk and Scottish traditional. I think we all regret not playing a instrument now Hope you're having lovely weekend, it's a sunny afternoon up here and just back from local m&s for Christine to get some plants and t shirts as was her birthday last Monday, haven't had chance to get her anything till now. Stay blessed,Gordon

Oh this is nice Gordon. Music can make such a difference in our lives. When I was young, I was taught to play classical music on the piano. I can also think of many times different types of music helped me through things. Well done! I hope all is well . Have a nice day :)
