Circus of Colour
Circus of Colour
Hot flashing circles, amber and red.
A clown dressed in black, torch on his head.
Pushing and shoving, a nightmarish dream.
Mouth filled with sawdust, unable to scream.
Pulsing and moving amber and green.
A circle of colour, joined now by blue
Swaying and swirling, blocking my view.
Bright shooting stars of tangerine flame.
Clowns all around. Arrayed in the same
Yellow and purple. A mad frenzied game.
Great orange arms, muscles of steel.
Screeching of metal, to loud to be real.
Whirlpool of colour. I struggle to swim
Out of this circus I am trapped in
A jab from a clown and the colours grow dim.
