Christmas Tree
Pagan roots you say
The joy of Christ it now displays
Whatever it was it no longer means
Christmas cheer our tree now brings
So celebrate this joyous holiday
With Christmas trees in every way
Be they real or artificial
Decorate because they are special
Stream with lights that twinkle
And colorful paper that crinkles
Beautiful bulbs of wood or glass
New for the year or treasures of the past
Ribbons and garland, tinsel and candy canes
Cute stockings with everyone's name
String with cranberries and popcorn
Hang with ornaments of drums and horns
Cookies baked and swirled with icing yummy
They won't hang long but end up in full tummies
Presents chosen with love and care
Bring togetherness with joy we share
At the top an angel or star
Displayed in the front window, it beckons far
Guiding family and friends to come in
Home to celebrate with the love within
